To work you need:
- Yarn (wool or wool with mohair), 100 grams, thread in 2 folds.
- Knitting needles number 2.5 mm.

When choosing threads, give preference to those whose 100 grams of weight contain 250 meters of length. We don't need thick threads. Let the threads be thinner, then the hat will look neater. The knitting should be tight, without gaps. Determine the knitting density.
Knitting density is the number of loops and rows needed to knit a fabric measuring 10/10 cm.
It is very important to correctly calculate the density so as not to re-bandage. Knit a control sample and see how many loops you have in 1 cm. Measure the circumference of your head and multiply by the resulting figure. This is how many stitches you will cast on your knitting needles. We will knit on two needles, then we will sew the fabric. For size 57 I take 142 loops (2.5 loops in 1cm * 57 cm) = 142. Add 2 edge loops. We cast on 142 stitches on 2 knitting needles and started knitting with an elastic band.
Row 1: knit 2 - purl 2, knit 2, purl 2. and so on.

We knit with an elastic band up to the 7th row. From the 7th row we begin to knit with facial stitches. We knit in stockinette stitch 17 cm. Next we begin decreasing. Decrease 2 stitches together in every third row. We collect the rest of the loops and pull them together tighter. Leave the end of the loop, thread it through a needle and carefully sew up the side seam.

We knit 15 cm with a 1/1 elastic band and begin decreasing. We begin to decrease: we divide the fabric into 6 parts, we begin to make decreases in every 3 rows. We knit 2 loops together throughout the entire row. After 9 cm we tighten the remaining loops with thread.
Sew the pompom to the hat. If you find it difficult to knit on 4 needles, you can knit on 2 and sew.
The hat is fashionable, branded, original, 28 cm high. We knit it from gray or dark blue yarn.
To work you need:
- Yarn (70% wool 30% pan) gray or dark blue.
- Knitting needles 2.5 mm.
- Centimeter.

Knit a 2/2 cm elastic band sample. See how many loops there are in 1 cm. Measure the volume of your head with a centimeter. For example, you got 2.5 loops in 1 cm. Therefore, in 56 centimeters there will be 56 * 2.5 = 140 loops. We knit a hat size 56.
The pattern is called “Celtic braid”:

After you knit 20 cm from the beginning of the hat, start decreasing. Only the front surface. Divide the knitting into 4 parts, marking these places with a bright thread. Decrease by knitting 2 together, in the end the hat should be 27-28 cm.

Product sizing
For a simple headdress you need to take two measurements:
- Head circumference - measured across the forehead and the most convex part of the back of the head. Since the knitted fabric stretches, subtract 2 cm from the resulting length.
- The height of the hat is measured from the forehead near the eyebrows to the base of the neck. The resulting length is divided in half. If you plan to wear a thing with a lapel, then its height is added to the resulting value. A beanie hat requires extra padding, as it should not fit the top of the head.
After this, the sample is knitted with the selected pattern. From this fragment the number of loops in one centimeter is calculated. Then the head circumference is multiplied by this figure. You should not start knitting without a sample, even if the number of loops is indicated in the manual. Due to the loose or tight knitting style, the size of men's hats may not match the measurements taken. In addition, it is necessary to wash and dry the sample in order to know how the item will behave after washing.
Description of the manufacture of various models

- We knit 8 cm in stocking stitch. On the front side we knit all the knit stitches, on the back side we knit all the knit stitches.
- We continue the fabric with an elastic band 3 to 1. We alternate 3 knit stitches and 1 purl stitch. We knit the purl rows, repeating the pattern. Thus we knit 2 cm.
- We change the thread to brown, continue the work with an elastic band for another 1.5 cm. Then we knit 1 cm with black thread, then again with brown 1.5 cm. We get two strips.
- Change the thread to black and knit in stockinette stitch 5 cm.
- We begin to decrease the loops. To do this, divide them on the knitting needle in this way: 10, 18, 18, 18, 18, 18, 10. Mark with a contrasting thread. To decrease, we knit 2 loops together at the beginning and end of each group using the knitting technique. We do this in rows 1, 5, 9, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21 after marking. We do not reduce the beginning and end of knitting.
- We collect the remaining loops on the knitting needle and tie them off.
- We sew the edges of the hat.
- Then we fold the inner layer up to the beginning of the elastic 3 to 1.

It is convenient to create models without a lapel in a circle on five knitting needles. To work you will need:
- Sensational wool yarn from Fibranatura, 166 m per 100 g;
- 5 knitting needles No. 4.5.
We cast on 88 P and distribute them equally among 4 knitting needles. We knit in stocking stitch 28 cm. Then we decrease. Calculate the required number of loops for knitting a men's hat. The easiest way to do this is to knit a square of fabric 10 by 10 centimeters. Using a tailor's meter, measure the circumference of your head (along the line of the upper half of your forehead) and attach a knitting sample to the centimeter divisions. If in the fabric that you knitted as an example, it turns out to be 33 rows and 28 loops. In this case, take needles No. 3 (preferably circular) and cast on 142 stitches.
Start knitting the headpiece with a 2x2 rib (two knit stitches and two purl stitches) and make the knitted fabric 14 cm high (you can adjust the size if the future owner of the knitted hat tries on the unfinished work).
Next, begin to decrease the loops in the following sequence: in the next front row you need to alternate two front loops with two purl ones, knitted together. The row should end with knit stitches, and the fabric should decrease by only 35 stitches (142-35=107).
Continue working, slightly modifying the elastic pattern: two purl loops and one knit stitch now alternate throughout this entire row. It will end with a pair of purl stitches. Make 5 rows with this elastic band.
On the sixth row the loops are shortened again. Knit knit; then knit two stitches together, also knit; again facial, etc. At the end of the row, the rib will turn into stockinette stitch. By this point, in our example there will be 72 loops left on the knitting needles. Work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. To do this, knit them on the front side with knit stitches, and on the back side with purl stitches.
Then continue knitting, gradually shortening the fabric to smoothly round the product. Alternations in working rows will look like this:

Knit the top of the headdress: work one purl row, and then knit each pair of loops together. Your hat is almost ready. All that remains is to string the remaining open loops onto a short thread of the same color that was used to make the entire product. Pull the top of the hat as tightly as possible and use a hook to drag the loose “tail” to the wrong side of the item. Place the part face down and carefully make a connecting seam.
