Popular models

Whatever influences the popularity of women's accessories, style, fashion and personal preferences, it would seem that everything has already been taken into account for the beauty and convenience of women's bags.

Knitted bags are already unique in themselves. Today, the likelihood of purchasing them is high not only in a fashion boutique, but also in an ordinary store. In addition, many, based on personal motivation, resort to self-mating.

Particularly popular knitted bags are standard shoulder bags.. Miniature “beach” type bags are also not far behind them. Its originality and low weight can satisfy many women.

Boho Bag

A distinctive feature of Boho bags is its originality. Many men, no matter how hard they try, cannot understand the meaning of such a bag. Her extraordinary and unusual appearance for a girl, on the contrary, is a way to emphasize her individuality. By the way, as many stylists say, you can understand the character of its owner by looking at a bag.

This bag will perfectly complement the look of a girl in denim trousers and high heels. They are also quite elegant when combined with sundresses and dresses.

Bag with rings

A knitted bag with rings will also look very attractive. Again, this is a somewhat unusual and extraordinary shape of bags. Most often, such bags are associated with strict ladies in the same strict suit. They create a certain barrier between rigor and simplicity.

Bag made of knitted squares

A very convenient summer option would be a knitted bag with squares. It will look great on a beach holiday and while hiking. Paired with a long-brimmed hat, every woman with this bag can become the object of everyone's positive attention. Despite its similarity to the ring bag, this accessory creates a more elegant combination with any outfit. Perfect for both winter and summer.

Fashion trends

Naturally, fashion is dictated by the season, but despite this, bags are often somewhat inconsistent with this trend. It happens that, along with an outfit, a handbag becomes a hit, and when, it would seem, fashion has died down, despite the overall ensemble, the bag still remains in fashion.

Any knitted bag has its own zest, which specifically adds charm to its owner. This season has shown especially popular two-color knitted bags in a variety of sizes.

According to the designers, knitted bags will always be in fashion, since it is their naturalness that can dilute any accessory.

It is worth adding that it is knitted models, especially recently, that provide tough competition to bags made of genuine leather.

Materials

Knitted bags can be very diverse, both large and small; they can be knitted yourself by crochet or knitting. The only thing that is constant for all such bags is their material. Only high-quality materials or high-quality yarn are used for production. Moreover, if in the store before purchasing you find any shortcomings or doubts, then you should not take the risk. Otherwise, your decoration can turn into a very dull object of unknown purpose at the first rain.

In addition to these common materials, satin is often used in production. Bags in his design have inexpressive lightness and dynamics. Products made from materials such as twine and bags, despite their simplicity, will add their own characteristics of strength and naturalness.

Knitted satin bags

Bags made of satin are very attractive and soft to the touch. They become especially acceptable as a gift for a child. With their appearance they can literally bewitch a little fashionista.

Also, such options are acceptable for evening ensemble options. Depending on its shape, completely different purposes are possible, including fulfilling household needs.

Fashionable twine bags

These types of women's handbags are distinguished by their enviable durability and simplicity. Outwardly, they are similar to linen handbags. Jute twine itself is considered attractive in various designs, and bags made using it have won the appreciation of many women.

Bags from bags

Despite the fact that the first impression is perceived as somewhat unusual, bags made from bags are very beautiful. What is especially noteworthy is that they are very budget-friendly in their execution.

You won’t be ashamed to take such a handbag with you to the beach or a date, and if you decorate it with something else, you’ll get a really interesting option.

Also, another important advantage about them is that they require virtually no maintenance. Just wipe with a light movement and the bag will look like new. In addition, it is also extremely durable, which also makes it irreplaceable.

Sizes of knitted bags

Knitted bags have no size criteria. It rather depends on preferences and purposes. For example, for housekeeping and shopping, a larger bag is more acceptable, but for a beach holiday and hiking, a relatively small one is recommended; sometimes even a purse-shaped bag will be more acceptable, due to its convenience.

Little bags

A variety of small handbags are especially popular among this accessory. These include clutch bags, which, due to their small size and natural beauty, have gained immense popularity. Clutches are characterized by increased versatility and will perfectly complement an ensemble with an evening dress, or even everyday wear.

Another handbag that has achieved recognition among many women is the cosmetic bag. Its small size and convenience have long been a competitor to conventional cosmetic bags.

Small and stylish knitted bags decorate almost any outfit, but if such a bag itself is supplemented with a selected attribute, the effect promises to be unpredictable.

Colors

When purchasing or making a knitted bag, you should definitely pay attention to the color. Light or bright colors are best for summer. For other periods, it is recommended to use relatively soft and calm colors.

Finishes and prints

For every woman, the bag itself is not just a roomy accessory, it is a necessary addition to the overall outfit. With its help, it is possible to achieve certain changes in the overall appearance.

The best prints can be varied combinations of several colors. Abstract drawings, as well as geometric ones, will also be very attractive.

Bags with beads

Sometimes you want to replace the everydayness of your handbag with something brighter, something that can improve your mood, and decorate your appearance with new accessories. A seemingly simple material, beads, can help with this perfectly.

With its help, you can decorate and update your old handbag in a variety of ways, which will once again emphasize your image and irresistibility. If you don’t have the time or opportunity to do this personally, then you can simply buy a new accessory, since nowadays the choice of such handbags is unlimited.

Designer bags from Dolce & Gabbana

Women's bags from this brand are unique in every sense of the word. This famous duo created huge collections of a wide variety of bag options. Particularly noteworthy were the collections of bags with lace. The palette of patterns on the bags is also diverse: relief in the form of peculiar cones, openwork, jacquard-type canvases, also consisting of individual motifs.

By the way, for the 25th anniversary of Dolce & Gabbana. The Dolce and Gabbana model range represents a wide variety of knitted bag models. There are handbags, wallets, over-the-shoulder models and even traveling bags. Knitted handbags with elements of genuine leather are considered the peak of success.

Everything is clear with the pattern. Let's start with the bag. First we knit the bottom:

See how the bottom is knitted.

The bag is knitted in the round, right side only.

Now let's make the handles:

First we make the middle of the handle. If you bought a tube that is too soft and can shrink when slightly squeezed, then for additional rigidity you can wrap it with cord, securing the edges with tape. Now you can accurately select the width of the knitted strip for the handles. We knit two strips with single crochets and make curves along the edges to attach the handles to the bag. We wrap the tube with a knitted strip and sew it, leaving the curves free, as shown in the picture on the left.

We secure the handle with a pin approximately 17-18 cm from the center, and carefully sew it on.

In this master class, I will tell you how you can make a fashionable round handbag with your own hands :) The bag is knitted from an interesting yarn - jute, and the main feature, the “trick”, is the frame, thanks to which the bag holds its shape perfectly, and the knitting is perfectly smoothed out and looks so smooth :)

Let's get started!

Part 1. Materials

1. Jute yarn, my color is White (actually milky) You will need 2 and a half skeins.
2. Knitting yarn in jute color, 1 skein.
3. Yarn “Iris”. Used to create a keychain, 3 skeins of different colors. You can also decorate your brushes with shells, beads, beads
4. Crochet hook number 4
5. Wooden blanks - circles 20 cm in diameter (I have blanks for watches). To make the bag lighter, you can use wooden blanks carved through it, or use another material. The main thing is that it is not elastic and holds its shape well.

6. Felt 4 mm thick. It will be used as a soft lining, the color and thickness is at your discretion :)
7. Carabiners 3 pcs. I have polished bronze, but you can take gold or silver. When choosing the size of the carabiner, take into account the width of the eyelet; the handle of the bag should fit there.
8. Zipper 18 cm. The base should preferably be the color of the bag, the teeth and dog should ideally match the light of the fittings (I couldn’t find one in bronze). Another piece of advice regarding the zipper: don’t buy one with metal teeth (it will come out in waves when sewn in). Mine has plastic teeth.

Part 2. Knitting in circles

Scheme:

We knit the circles in a spiral, on top of the knitted yarn according to the pattern that I attached to the template for this master class (t-yarn is laid in a spiral during the process, it is not necessary to knit it). I would like to note that I was not able to knit very evenly, starting with 6 st.b.n. (according to the amigurumi principle) Through trial and error, I started the circle with 8 st.b.n. Further according to the scheme, but it turns out to be 8 increases in each row.

1. Knit up to a diameter of 20 cm, try on a wooden piece) It is advisable that the knitted circle is slightly larger than the wooden one. To do this, you can knit half of the final row.

Pinterest

2. It is not necessary to knit exactly following the pattern. If you feel that the circle is moving in a wave, knit a row without increasing. The main thing is that you like the result.

3. Place a marker as a guide for where the new row should begin. Without it, it is very difficult to determine by eye when knitting in a spiral. If you don't have a marker, you can use a regular pin.

4. Ready-made circles (2 pcs.) should be ironed and steamed on the left side! Jute is a surprisingly pliable material for steam)) I really liked this process :)

Part 3. Assembling circles

1. As I wrote earlier, the knitted circle should be slightly larger than the wooden one.

2. We make two circles from felt, for this we outline a wooden circle with a slight indentation. I use a disappearing marker (available at sewing stores). Cut out circles with scissors.

3. It turns out to be a layer of three circles. Wooden in the middle.

4. Sew a felt and knitted circle around the edge with a thread and a needle. Ready!

P.S. Yes, the design will turn out to be quite dense, but the knitted circle will not bend, will align and will be perfectly fixed to the wood. As I wrote above, instead of a tree you can insert something else, use your imagination :)

Part 4. Assembling the bag

1 Base of the bag. We knit a chain of chain stitches equal to the number of stitches in the last row of the circle.

2. We tie together with t.yarn with columns of b.n.

3. Width - at your discretion.

4. Don’t forget to make a hole in the middle, 18-20 cm long (equal to the length of the zipper). Do not knit a row in this place, but instead make a chain of chain stitches. the next row will be knitted in st.b.n. along this chain.

5. Steam/iron the resulting ring base.

6. Cut and sew felt. I don't use felt in the zipper area.

7. Use a thin hook to connect the base to the circles. I inserted the hook into 3 loops, pulling out a loop from them, see photo (half-columns). You may sometimes need to make decreases, you will understand this during the knitting process.

8. By combining all the parts, you will get such a cool “cookie”.

P.S. The bottom of the Brown bag is knitted with rotating rows of knitted yarn + 1 thread of jute. No felt was used in the base.

Part 5. Sew in the Zipper

This option is suitable for bags made of jute, wool, thin cotton, and so on. Another method is suitable for sewing a zipper into a handbag knitted from thick knitted yarn.

Please note:

1. The handbag is round, the zipper lies in an arc, so standard methods of sewing/tying a zipper will be problematic.

2. Choosing a zipper. For round bags, I don’t recommend using metal teeth; they run like waves in the product. Plastic zippers performed better; they are more aesthetically pleasing.

1. Craftsmen advise steaming the zipper before sewing it in. Made!

2. Using a thick needle and jute thread, we make stitches as close to the teeth as possible, but check that they open/fasten well. It is important not to tighten the stitches, but rather, on the contrary, to make them a little loose.

3. Watch the video, I hope everything is clear there :) The main thing is to constantly tighten the zipper, if you don’t do this, it will go in waves.

Part 6. Knitting a handle

I love shoulder bags, so I always knit them long. But here it should be taken into account that the handle will enter and be attached through a carbine, which means that you need to add about 5 cm to the total desired length on both sides of the handle. My handle length is usually 120 cm +/-10 cm depending on the size and model of the handbag. It should also be taken into account that the knitting is heavy.

How to tie

I probably won’t go into details, since each master will choose the most suitable option, but I will write a few techniques that I have tried myself:

1. Handles in Tunisian knitting, like mine for a bag according to MK, knitted on 4 loops.

2. Turning rows of st.b.n., like the bag in the first photo in the collage.

3. “Caterpillar” cord. I used this method for a bag with an openwork insert. I really like how to knit it - there are a lot of videos on the Internet based on the title.

I'm sure there are many more options, it's up to you to decide which one to choose :)

Fastening
After inserting the edge of the handle into the carabiner, we tighten it by 5 cm and sew it tightly with yarn or matching threads. The carabiner can be attached either to the handbag itself, or to a half-ring, as in the photo in the collage above.

Part 7. Making a bright tassel keychain

For the beige bag, I made a bright keychain from tassels, which is why the third carabiner was needed :) For the light brown bag, I also made two large tassels, but they do not come off.

I have a Master Class on how to make yarn tassels with your own hands, you can watch it here.

What other options can there be for decorating a handbag?
Next time I would love to decorate it with tiny knitted flowers and leaves, something like a wreath. I also really want to embroider with raffia or ribbons on a mesh and then sew this beauty onto a bag. Or initially knit circles in different colors, forming a pattern. You can fantasize endlessly! 🙂

Handbags that I got

Two of my handbags are already included in the collages, but I suggest you look at them separately :) Here’s how they turned out for me:

Dimensions:
Bag: width about 40 cm, depth about 23 cm, height (without handles) about 18 cm
Handles: 1 pair, about 61 cm long.
