Drawings of men's knitted vests in foreign magazines. Men's sleeveless vest with knitting needles (diagrams and description): with a neckline, patterns and others

You can complement and decorate a man's wardrobe with a vest. A men's sleeveless vest will become an indispensable item for anyone who works outside in the cold season. The same sleeveless vest will help make your office outfit more formal. The product can be bought or knitted with your own hands. It turns out that choosing such a wardrobe item in a store is not so easy. It needs to be harmonious with the rest of your clothes. To knit it, you need to choose threads and choose a pattern that a man will like.

Varieties of knitted patterns

Deciding on a style can be as difficult as choosing the right threads. Men's can be made with any neckline, with or without buttons. All this will depend on the wishes of the person. In addition, on the Internet you can find various diagrams and descriptions of men's.

If the model is knitted for the cold season, then you should use wool or half-woolen threads. A model knitted from woolen threads is primarily intended for insulation, so it must provide warmth.

Plain cotton threads are used for a sleeveless vest that will be worn on cool summer evenings, as well as in spring and fall. It can be knitted in any pattern that a man chooses. This vest can be used to decorate an evening outfit in cool weather.

The neckline can be either round, square or V-shaped. Many men prefer the latter neckline option - this is worth paying attention to.

Preparing for work

If you know how to knit, then this task will not be difficult for you. First of all, you need to decide for what purpose this thing is needed. Next, you need to select the threads and select the appropriate pattern.

To correctly calculate the number of loops for a men's knitted vest, you need to knit a pattern sample with the selected threads. Using it, the knitting density is calculated and the required number of loops for the front and back of the product is calculated.

For those who are making a large product for the first time, experts recommend making a life-size pattern. It is used when you need to close loops for armholes and necklines.

Simple vest model

This pattern uses knit and purl stitches. The pattern is called "checkerboard". On the front side of the product, the squares of the front and back surfaces, which alternate in a checkerboard pattern, will be clearly visible. Since the thickness of the threads can be different, the square can be made large or small. For beginners, this pattern will be the simplest, but at the same time beautiful and neat.

Work begins with a 1x1 or 2x2 elastic band. Its height is 5-7 cm. If a children's sleeveless vest is knitted, then the height of the elastic will be less, and if the product is for an adult, then more. After The elastic loops are distributed as follows:

  • 1 edge;
  • 6 facial;
  • 6 purl, etc. until the end of the row;
  • at the end 1 edge.

The next 5 rows of loops are knitted according to the pattern. No matter what the width of the square is, its height should be the same. In the seventh row, you need to knit purl stitches above the knit stitches, and knit stitches above the purl stitches. The next five rows are knitted according to the pattern.

When the workpiece reaches the armhole, reduction is performed on both sides. The neckline can be round or V-shaped. They begin to design it after the armhole. When the piece of the product is the desired length, the shoulder loops are closed. The back of the product is knitted in the same way, only without the neck design.

The resulting blanks are sewn along the shoulder and side seams. The armhole and neckline are tied with the same elastic band from which the product was knitted.

Track knitting pattern

The product turns out to be especially stylish if knitted with light threads. For a demi-season vest, threads containing wool and acrylic are suitable.

The main pattern is a stockinette stitch of 6 stitches and a track.

The track consists of two loops: 2 loops are knitted together, then, without removing them from the knitting needle, another knit loop is knitted from the first loop. The number of loops does not change, and there is no yarn over. It's simple.

Having determined the required number of loops for work, we begin to knit the blanks. The work starts with the elastic band. In order for the product to turn out free, after the elastic band you need to switch to knitting needles of a larger diameter. If the pattern consists of braids, then it is necessary to increase the loops in the last row of the elastic at equal intervals.

In this case, knitting the main pattern will be done on knitting needles of a larger diameter. In the last row of elastic you need to add 20 stitches at equal intervals. After this, the workpiece is knitted with the main pattern.

Using the pattern, cut the loops for the armhole and neckline. When the workpiece reaches the desired length, all loops are closed.

The shoulder loops are sewn together and the neckline is tied with a 1x1 elastic band. The loops are placed along the edge so that the resulting elastic does not tighten the neckline - they need to be calculated correctly.

After tying the neckline, the side seams are sewn and the armhole is tied on both sides.

Knitting with a braid pattern

For size 52−54 you need:

  • 600 grams of yarn;
  • knitting needles number 4.

Based on the knitted pattern, we determine the knitting density: 10 cm is 20 loops. Having this data, we get to work.

You should start knitting from the back. Having cast 110 loops on the knitting needles, you need to knit 6 cm with an elastic band. 1x1 looks better in work. In the last row, evenly add 12 loops: 122 stitches on the knitting needles. We continue further work according to the diagram, which shows only the front rows. In purl rows, all stitches are knitted according to the pattern.

When the height reaches 49 cm, you need to start designing the armhole. The first time you need to close 4 loops on both sides, then in every second row you need to decrease 3 sts, 2 sts. and 1p.

Knitting continues with the same pattern. When the height of the canvas is 74 cm, 34 shoulder loops are closed on both sides. The middle 34 loops are removed onto an auxiliary needle. They should not be covered; they will be useful for tying the neck.

The front is knitted in the same way as the back, up to the neckline. To make a V-neck, you need to remove 2 middle loops onto a auxiliary needle at a height of 49 cm. Next, the two halves of the front blank will be knitted separately. To decorate the neckline, you need to decrease in every 4 rows 17 times, 1 loop each.

When the piece reaches 74 cm, you need to close 34 shoulder loops.

When both parts of the product are ready, you can begin assembling it. To do this, you need to make one shoulder seam. The cast-on is done in the usual way; the back neck loops are simply knitted. The cast-on loops are knitted with an elastic band 1x1 8-10 rows, while you need to decrease 1 loop every other row from the 2 central loops. Having knitted a certain number of rows, all loops are closed.

Another shoulder seam is sewn together with the knitted binding.

To design the armhole, the required number of loops is cast on and 6-8 rows are knitted with an elastic band. The loops are closed, the product, together with the knitted binding, is sewn along the side seam. On the other side, the armhole is designed in the same way.

How to make a product with buttons

Some men find it very difficult to pull a sleeveless vest over their head. It can be tied with a clasp - it will not only be original, but also convenient. A man will appreciate such a thing.

The model is considered difficult, so its production will require not only time, but also attention and perseverance. It is advisable to make the pattern in full size, this will make it easier during work.

To get size 44-46, you will need:

  • 400 g of wool or wool blend yarn;
  • knitting needles No. 3.5 and 4;
  • buttons - 6 pieces.

Patterns: stockinette stitch, 1x1 rib and 6-loop braid.

Having knitted the sample with the selected threads, we get the knitting density: 10x10 cm = 20 p. x 26 r. Having received the dimensions of the finished product, you can begin to make the product.

For the back, we cast on 95 stitches and 5-7 cm on knitting needles of a smaller diameter. We continue the work on knitting needles No. 4, increasing 5 stitches evenly. We distribute the pattern: 1 outer braid, 2 purl braids, 6 knit braids, 2 purl braids, 6 knit braids, etc. In the third row, we cross the braid loops 3 at a time and continue knitting according to the pattern until the 9th row. In row 9, the loops of the braid cross again.

When the canvas is 40 cm, we begin to design the armhole. On both sides you need to close 8 loops at a time, then decrease in every second row 5 times, 1 loop each. There should be 74 stitches left on the needles.

When the height of the fabric is 65 cm, you need to bind off 20 shoulder loops, and remove the middle 34 loops onto an additional knitting needle.

Now you can start knitting the front. Since the product is fastened with buttons, you need to knit the left and right parts separately. You need to cast on 45 stitches on the knitting needles and knit a 1x1 elastic band. In the last row, 3 loops are added evenly, and knitting continues on needles No. 4. The pattern with braids is distributed and a 38 cm fabric is knitted.

At this height you need to start shaping the neck. In order to get a beautiful bevel, you need to make decreases in each 4th row 15 times, 1 p.

At the same time, at a height of 40 cm, you need to close 8 loops for the armholes on the side opposite to the neckline once and 5 times for 1 p. When the part is 65 cm, close 20 shoulder loops.

The second half of the front is knitted in a mirror image.

The finished parts need to be moistened and steamed or simply washed and allowed to dry laid out. The shoulder seams are sewn and the armholes are formed. The loops are cast on in the usual way; an elastic band is knitted 1x1 6-8 rows. All loops are closed, the side seam and the knitted binding are sewn.

To decorate the neckline, all the loops are raised along the edges of the shelves. For work, knitting needles No. 3.5 are used. An elastic band of 1x1 is knitted in 8-10 rows, then all loops are loosely closed.

When knitting the fastener bar on the left front, you need to make 6 holes for buttons. The first hole is located at a height of 2 cm from the edge, the last one is at the beginning of the neck bevel. The remaining 4 holes are distributed at the resulting distance.

All that remains is to sew on the buttons - and the gift is ready!

The braid pattern for such a model can be more complex. The product will be dense and warm, which is important for a cold winter. If the product is knitted from thick threads for a man to work with, then you can make it with a pocket.

If the buttons on the vest seem uncomfortable to you, you can use this pattern to knit a model without a fastener - it all depends on your desire and preference.

Jacquard pattern for vest

The model looks perfect, but you need to take into account that the product is double due to the interweaving of the threads. This means that the demi-season item will turn out to be very dense. It is best to knit such a wardrobe item for winter.

Schemes of jacquard patterns can be found on the Internet. Those who have not yet knitted products with a pattern need to practice first.

Men's knitted vest with knitting needles diagram with description

We offer a simple but interesting version of a knitted vest, which is very easy and simple to knit. The vest has a beautiful pattern that is also quite easy to knit.

To knit this vest model you will need:

— 7 skeins of thread (in this version we used Gazal baby coton thread, 50 g);

- circular knitting needles % 3.5 by 180 cm.

This vest is knitted in the round. In this version, you do not need to knit the back and front parts separately, everything is knitted together in the round. There will be a pattern on the front side, on the back we will knit in stockinette stitch. Vest size 43-45.

Drawing diagram.

Only even rows (2, 4, 6, etc.) are not indicated in the diagram, since they are repeated. You should knit the first row as in the diagram, and repeat the second row according to the drawing, and so on. The pattern is very easy to knit. Where marked with dots, these are purl loops, where there are no dots, these are knit stitches.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. We put 296 loops on the knitting needles and close them into a circle.
  2. We knit with a 2x2 elastic band (4 loops). We knit 4-5 cm.
  3. We distribute the cast-on loops across the floors. The back part is 148 loops, the front part is 136 loops. Leave 6 loops on each side. Half of the loops will be the back, we knit the back with facial loops, the second half will be the front part, we knit according to the pattern.
  4. The width along the elastic will be 42 cm, where the pattern will be 53 cm. The girth will be 106 cm.
  5. When we have knitted the elastic, we begin to knit the front part of the vest according to the pattern, and we also knit the back in a circle with facial loops.
  6. The pattern report consists of seventeen loops. For beginners, it is recommended to wear a marker at the end of each report in order to make fewer errors and know when the report has ended.
  7. We knit 38 centimeters like this. You may need to knit more in height, it all depends on your height. When 38 cm is knitted, it is best to take measurements.

Then we begin to decrease and form the armhole.

  1. We set aside twenty loops that we will close for the armhole. For convenience, to know how many loops are closed and how many need to be closed, you can hang a marker. To do this, in the very first row on the front side we decrease five loops, after which we knit according to the pattern. When we knit to the end, turn the knitting over and close five more loops on the reverse side. This is how we knit in reverse rows.
  2. In the second row we close - 3 loops, in the third again - 3 loops, in all remaining rows we close one loop each.
  3. We don’t touch anything on the back side, leave it alone for now and work only with the front part of the vest.
  4. Once the armhole is ready, we begin to form the neckline. In this vest it is V-shaped. You can also use the neck option in a circle.
  5. In this example, the neck height is 19-20 cm. 10 cm x 36 rows. We make up the proportion: 19 * 36 / 10 and get 68 rows. 68/20 and we get that in each row you should decrease 3 loops in every 8th row. We do the decrease with reverse-turning rows of 69 rows.
  6. Starting from the 62nd row to the 69th row, we begin to decrease 8 loops.
  7. On the 70th row we bind off the remaining loops.
  8. When the neckline is ready, continue knitting the back part in stockinette stitch.
  9. We place the working canvas on the left side. And we begin to form armholes according to the indicated pattern. The armhole is formed in the same way as on the front face.
1) -5 2) — 3 3) — 3 4) -2
5) — 2 6) -2 7) -1 8) — 1
9) -2 10) -2 11) -1 12) -1
13) -1 14) -1 15) -1 16) -1
17) -1 18) -2 19) -2 20) -2
21) -1 22) -1 23) -1 24) -1

  1. We form an armhole from the left and right. Decrease occurs in 26 rows:
  2. We start decreasing the neckline from the back. The decrease occurs in the same way as on the front of the vest. We knit straight up to the 60th row, make a cutout and continue to decrease until the 69th row. The shoulder should be at an angle.

We make such reductions in this way:

61) – 30; 62) From the wrong side - 8, after closed loops we close 3 loops; and in the next rows the loops are closed in the same order 63) – 8, – 3. 64) – 8, -3; 65) – 8, -1 66) – 8, -1; 67)- 8; – 1 68) – 10, 16; 9)- 10.

  1. We process the shoulder seams and sew them together.
  2. We process the armhole. We cast on the sleeves - 160 loops. For the neck - 124 loops. And we knit with an elastic band 2 x 2. We do this with the sleeves and neckline. We knit 7 rows with an elastic band.
  3. Close the loops, hide the ends and the product is ready!

Neck treatment in a men's knitted vest

V-shaped neck processing

Before forming the neck, you should initially select the desired height for the neck. This could be a deep V-shaped neckline or closing the neck loops in a circle. In such cases, they apply the finished product to another item, for example, to a T-shirt, and use it to measure at what distance the neckline will begin.

  1. Initially, you need to finish the left side of the work. To do this, in every third row, the 2nd and 3rd loops should be knitted with pulling.
  2. On the right side, knit the last two stitches together for the bevel.
  3. To form the strip, the edge is cast on and the loops for the binding also begin to be cast on the left side.

round neck processing

  1. To knit a round neck, it is important that all its edges are smooth and round.
  2. After the knitted parts have been processed, it is necessary to cast on the knitting needles the loops corresponding to the length of the neckline. You can cast on through one loop, not necessarily in a row (there will be no holes).
  3. You should knit with an elastic band of 2 x 2 approximately 7 cm. The number of loops should be a multiple of 4.
  4. After knitting, close the loops and hide the thread.

Knitting a hood is not that difficult. It can be knitted separately, and then attached to the vest, or you can start knitting it after the main part of the work is ready. The hood can be knitted in several ways: according to the principle of knitting the heel, as well as dividing into the left and right parts (the second option is convenient for knitting hoods with patterns).

This version of the vest can be complemented with a scarf of the same color, and you can also knit an original men’s hat and gloves.
